Older Persons Support….

What We Do

Elevating Lives: JAFOA’s Commitment to Empowerment and Care

Our Community Intitiatives & Projects

Many older people in Uganda struggle to bring in a reliable income and are vulnerable to living in poverty. Many live in chronic ill health or have disabilities that limit their ability to lead independent lives and participate in their local communities.

Yet countless older people have the responsibility of caring for orphaned grandchildren who have lost their parents to AIDS or other diseases.

Health and Medical Outreach

Social Cause: The Health and Medical Outreach program by Jehovah Alive for Old Age (JAFOA) tackles the critical need for comprehensive healthcare services tailored to the needs of older persons and vulnerable children and youth under their care. The program is founded on the belief that ensuring access to quality healthcare is not only a
fundamental right but also a means to uphold their well-being, autonomy, and dignity.
Our Impact: The Health and Medical Outreach program is poised to bring about a profound transformation in the lives of older persons and vulnerable children within Uganda. By offering essential healthcare services, the program endeavors to enhance their physical health, enrich their quality of life, and mitigate the vulnerabilities they encounter due to health-related challenges associated with ageism.

Agriculture & Health Nutrition

Social Cause: The Agriculture and Health Nutrition program by Jehovah Alive for Old Age (JAFOA) takes aim at an often-overlooked aspect of nutrition – the needs of older persons. While much attention has been directed towards the nutrition requirements of under-fives and lactating mothers, the nutritional well-being of older persons has remained a neglected domain. This program is founded on the conviction that addressing the nutritional needs of older persons is essential for their long-term health and well-being.
Our Impact: The Agriculture and Health Nutrition program carries the potential to create a substantial positive impact, specifically among older persons within Uganda. By focusing on their nutritional needs, the program seeks to enhance their health, vitality, and overall quality of life, thereby recognizing their invaluable contributions to society.

Our Impact: The Community-Based Working Groups program holds the potential to spark a significant impact at both the individual and community levels. By empowering older persons to actively contribute to community development, the program seeks to create a more cohesive, inclusive, and mutually supportive society.

Emergency & Humanitarian Crises

Social Cause: The Emergency and Humanitarian Crises program by Jehovah Alive for Old Age (JAFOA) stands as a beacon of support for older persons who often find themselves marginalized and powerless during periods of conflict and emergencies.

This program is dedicated to addressing the specific rights, needs, and contributions of older persons that are frequently overlooked in times of crisis.

Our Impact: The Emergency and Humanitarian Crises program is poised to create a significant impact on the lives of older persons, especially in times of conflict, emergencies, and epidemics. By recognizing their unique circumstances and contributions, the program aims to restore dignity, empower, and address the vulnerabilities they face during such challenging times.
